Last night Young Hero, in partnership with Lonely Whale and the Point Break Foundation, unveiled the Museum of Plastic - an eye-opening interactive exhibit that’s the latest feature of our ongoing campaign to put an end to single-use plastic water bottles. Conceived with the help of Young Hero’s creative network, the pop-up experience asks visitors to “Question How You Hydrate” through a series of art installations that are informative, inspiring, and (of course) highly Instagrammable.
The soft opening event boasted appearances from a roster of notable figures associated with the campaign, including Adrian Grenier, Nev Schulman, Matthew Dillon Cohen, Hayley Law and featured a DJ set by Young Hero’s very own BAYLI. Celebrated photographers Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen were also on hand.
President of the General Assembly at United Nations, María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés applauded the campaign in a speech, just days after banning single-use plastics at the UN. She and her diplomatic colleagues were also given a personal tour of the space.
Check it out yourself - The Museum of Plastic is located at 473 Broadway in SoHo. It’s open June 8-12 - entry is free and open to the public.
