ocean heroes bootcamp

YOUNG HERO’S
ROLE

Every year, 500 students from around the world gather to develop the skills required to beat plastic pollution, and earn the title Ocean Hero. Due to the worldwide pandemic in 2020, the organization partnered with Young Hero to bring the Bootcamp online for a virtual experience.

Collaborating closely with our OH partners, the experts on the material, the Young Hero team translated the training program into an academic video series. This included an illustrated visual design system, on-screen animation and motion graphics, script workshops and a remote production approach.

PRODUCTION

Planning for talent to film alone or with a family member due to shelter in place restrictions, we developed a custom shooting guide and production toolkit. This included physical equipment like tripods, lights and mics, as well as light how-tos on lighting, framing and recording.

Pre-pros and shoots were conducted with our host and instructors via online conferencing tools, while the shooting guide was distributed to a wider network of Ocean Hero alumni who provided their own content.
