Lonely Whale Brand Refresh
In 2018, we had the opportunity to take a fresh approach to the overall brand identity of the Lonely Whale, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness of the world’s plastic pollution crisis and drives positive, quantifiable impacts for ocean health.
The Evolution
& Young Hero’s Role
Our goal was to retain and simply evolve existing brand elements. This included revisiting the color system, as well as the style, weight and kerning of the logo type. As part of our approach, we worked closely with emerging illustrator Will Ramirez to reimagine the brand’s signature 52 whale tail logo (a nod to the frequency of the whale call the Lonely Whale drives its name from).
