Somewhere deep in the ocean, a mysterious whale calls out at the unusual frequency of 52hz – a pitch so unique, no other whale makes the same sound. Inspired by this story, we launched 52hz: The Lonely Whale Podcast.

For their first foray into the crowded world of podcasts, we set out to build a distinct identity that leveraged the Lonely Whale’s namesake whale. Both visually and in story.
Naming, visual identity, color systems, episodic iconography and photographic approach ensured that Lonely Whale would show up and stand out in the typical “blue world” of ocean conservancy podcasts.

Each episode was built around conversations with entrepreneurs, innovators, and youth leaders who have accepted the challenge to fight for a future with clean seas. We supported Lonely Whale’s in-house writing team with segment ideas and story workshops.
Social content Toolkit
Content templates and guidelines ensured a runway for the in-house design team to update new episodes and call out featured guests weekly.
